Get ready for mud, sweat, tears as Meangate returns to Deangate this Saturday.

Designed to challenge their strength, stamina and resolve, participants will have to navigate their way across almost 50 obstacles around Deangate Ridge, Hoo.

The 8km course includes scramble nets, monkey bars, tyre walls, slides, ladders, plus natural obstacles such as hills, trenches, swamps, ponds and mud.

There's lots of mud and water all around the course

More than 300 mud-loving runners took on the first Meangate event in February and there are lots of new obstacles to freshen things up for those who survived the first time around.

The extreme course challenges experienced runners as well as being a realistic test for children and newcomers.

Registration is still open and costs £40 for adults and £20 for children (11-16) who must run with a responsible adult. Every runner will get a souvenir T-shirt and medal.

Teams get a sixth place free when they book five places.
