Grain firefighters to the rescue

Firefighters came to the rescue to help a village carrry on a festive tradition.
The crew from Grain Fire Station climbed the bell tower of St James’ Church on a very cold and wet afternoon to install the village Christmas tree and decorate it.
Parish councillor Veronica Cordier said: “This is a difficult task, having to manoeuvre the tree up after climbing various ladders to get to the roof.
"We want to say a big thank-you. The village and the tankers going past by sea look forward to seeing it each year.”
