Cupcakes, cheesecakes and cakejars are just some of the offerings at a new shop in Chatham.

The Original Flake ‘n’ Bake, run by husband and wife Simon and Victoria Town, opened its doors last month.

Victoria is the talent behind the creations while Simon manages the business and occasionally puts his pastry skills to use.

Former clinical support worker, Victoria, started making cakes for friends and family from her home in Lordswood.

Simon said: “We had the idea to have a shop since day one and in those three years since we started, we have had a lot of time to think about the look, interior, colours, etc.

“It’s unique and we want our customers to see it as more of an experience to come and sit in rather than a standard coffee shop.

“Victoria is doing the cake decorating right in front of the customers with our open plan space so everyone can see the process that goes into making of her creations.

“If people walk through the door and go ‘wow, this is nice’, then half the battle is won.”
