Hess helps our appeal

Gills boss Andy Hessenthaler is asking supporters to spare a little cash this Christmas.
The team manager has got behind our festive appeal in aid of our charity of the year, Macmillan Cancer Support.
We are hoping to help five families by raising enough to provide five financial grants.
Macmillan offers one-off grants of about £350 to adults, young people and children with cancer. These can cover a range of needs, including heating bills, a much-needed break, or even to pay for presents.
Hessenthaler said: “I’m delighted to get behind the Medway Messenger’s campaign this Christmas.
“Macmillan does some fantastic work for cancer sufferers and I hope lots of our great supporters can spare some money to help the charity achieve their aim this Christmas.”
Generous readers have already been sending donations since we launched the appeal. The latest cheque, for £50, came from fitness instructor Michelle Burke, who teaches Buggyfit and Zumba classes in Medway.
