A high street will be closed to traffic for 10 weekends so developers can replace paving blocks with a new surface.

The works are part of Medway Council's plan to improve Strood town centre.

To ensure the public's safety, Strood High Street will be closed from 8pm on Friday to 5.30am on Monday every weekend from this week onwards.

“The transformation project aims to boost economic growth, provide new jobs in the town and create a place where people are proud to live, work, learn and visit.”
