Invicta Dynamos coach Kevin Parrish suffered a blow this week when Zach Sullivan joined English Premier League Slough Jets.

Sullivan, pictured, joined Invicta from Guildford Phoenix at the start of last season and was voted Players’ Player of the Year.

Parrish said: "Losing Zach is a massive blow but he approached me last week and said he wanted to play at the highest level he could."

The Mos coach was not prepared to stand in the 17-year-old defenceman’s way, but his departure on a two-way contract is the latest in a series of problems for the Dynamos chief.

Already without Tim Smith on leave of absence, Michael Timms was due to undergo a knee operation on a torn cartilage on Thursday. Anthony Lennon also faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after breaking his shoulder in last Sunday’s 10-5 ENIHL Southern Cup defeat against Romford Raiders.

Jack Tarczycki also had to go off with a knee injury as Invicta suffered their heaviest home defeat since December 2007, although Parrish is hoping Tarczycki will be fit for this weekend’s away league double header, starting with Cardiff ENL Devils on Saturday followed by Bristol Pitbulls on Sunday.

Daniel Fudger will be available again after missing the Romford game with food poisoning and Parrish was planning to ask Slough if they would release Sullivan for the weekend, but admitted it was unlikely.

Cardiff are currently fifth in the table, two places below Dynamos on goal difference, and Parrish said: "It’s going to be a tough weekend – two away matches with a depleted squad – but we’ve got to dig deep."
