Invicta Dynamos' three-game winning streak in the ENIHL South Division 1 came to an end at leaders Chelmsford Chieftains on Sunday.

Dynamos suffered their third league defeat of the season at the hands of the Essex club, who powered to a 4-1 victory with some excellent hockey on their home rink.

Invicta fell behind after 10 minutes when Ross Brears forced the puck past Andy Moffat while the Chieftains were enjoying the extra man advantage as Corey Watkins sat out a minor penalty.

Just over a minute later Dynamos fell 2-0 behind when Alex Green blasted home from distance while Callum Fowler (pictured) was in the penalty box.

Dynamos' problems increased just past the halfway mark when Tom Long made it 3-0, but Invicta did pull one back through Fowler who took advantage of a rebound off the backboards that fell straight to his stick in front of goal.

The Chieftains, however, then wrapped up an emphatic victory when Slovak Jakub Klima smashed home his 23rd goal of the season.

Meanwhile, Jack Robinson, formerly of the Milton Keynes Thunder, has been handed a five-year ban by the English Ice Hockey Association after being ejected from the Thunder's 10-4 defeat by Dynamos on November 19 for spearing Alistair Band in the face and causing the Dynamos' defenceman to suffer a dislocated jaw.

The Thunder have cancelled Robinson's registration and Invicta director Jackie Mason said: “We are pleased that the EIHA have acted so promptly and dealt harshly with what could have been a very serious injury.

"We would like to thank both the sport’s governing body and Jack Robinson’s former club, the Milton Keynes Thunder, for their support in resolving the situation and look forward to putting the incident behind us.”
