A Kent Tory MP is said to be 'devastated' after she was dumped by her DJ lover in the middle of a House of Commons vote.

Tracey Crouch, the MP for Chatham and Aylesford, had just returned from South America, where she was raising money for injured British Soldiers.

But, according to a national newspaper, the 38-year-old backbencher was dumped by DJ Steve Ladner in middle of a vital vote.

It's believed Mr Ladner had told her by text that he was returning to his wife Helen and leaving their shared home.

The newspaper claimed Miss Crouch accused Mr Ladner of being a "rat" after the 42-year-old dramatically ditched her.

An MP who was said to have seen Miss Crouch in the voting lobby after getting the message said she was sobbing and crying her eyes out.

Miss Crouch is a qualified football coach, runs a girls’ team, and has campaigned to get more women to take up sport.
