KFC stores' supply troubles causes Kentucky Fried Catastrophe

Medway has been hit by the nationwide supply problems of fast-food giant KFC.

Outlets in Canterbury Street, Gillingham and Strood Retail Park have been reportedly affected, with the former running out of chips and the latter shutting altogether.

KFC tweeted an explanation yesterday, as more and more stores around the country continued to shut or run out of the Kentucky Fried essentials - namely chicken and chips.

Local stores are waiting to see if they'll be allowed to open today as usual, with the problems affecting opening times and the menu.

Lilly May, from Gillingham, was at the Canterbury Street outlet in Gillingham and said: "There were no fries on the menu, and staff said they were running low on other items and would have to close early.

"I think some people walked out!"

As on Sunday evening, two of the four Medway outlets were open - Courteney Road in Gillingham and Strood Retail Park, with Chatham High Street and Canterbury Street, Gillingham branches closed.
