The waiting is over - the winner of this year's Kids Galore competition will be announced today, Wednesday.

Around 750 cuties entered the contest and their photos appeared in picture galleries in the Medway Messenger.

Thousands of people cast their votes and the entrants were whittled down to 12 finalists. Since then, it's been the job of the judges to choose a winner in each group and an overall champion - and it's been a difficult task.

The finalists and their families are due at Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre this afternoon where the winner will be revealed and the prizes handed out.

There's a prize fund of £3,750 at stake put up by Hempstead Valley who have again sponsored the competition.
