Two six-week-old kittens are recovering in RSPCA care after they were dumped in a sodden cardboard box in Gillingham.
Flora and Kiara were spotted by a member of the public on Tuesday, June 6, who took them home and contacted the RSPCA.
Insp Dave Grant took the kittens to the RSPCA’s Ashford Garden Cattery where they are now recovering.
He said: “It appeared as though one of the kittens had her fur cut with scissors before she was dumped.
“One of them also had a bad case of diarrhoea and both were looking undernourished and flea-ridden.
“It is very sad to see kittens who are too young to be away from their mum abandoned in this way.”
Flora and Kiara are too young to be rehomed but the cattery has 11 other kittens looking for their forever home.
