A library is due to reopen after works to repair damage caused by Storm Ciara were completed.

The Chatham Community Hub and Riverside site, in Dock Road, had its roof tiles damaged following strong winds at the weekend and is currently being repaired.

Medway Council confirmed the library and the car park, which has been cordoned off, will reopen tomorrow after closing since Monday due to concerns for public safety.

The authority's library service Twitter account confirmed the building will be back in business tomorrow.

The tweet added staff were looking forward to welcoming customers back.

Meanwhile, the council added the Riverside car park will also reopen on Thursday.

Books can be renewed online in the meantime and the nearest community hubs are in High Street, Gillingham and Eastgate, Rochester.
