Delays near Medway Tunnel after lorry sheds with queues around Medway City Estate

Drivers are experiencing rush hour delays due to two separate incidents in the same area.

A lorry has reportedly shed its load near the Medway Tunnel, between Anthonys Way and Maritime Way.

The A289 eastbound was shut, meaning drivers were unable to get off the Medway City Estate via the tunnel.

As well as this, a crash has also reportedly taken place inside the tunnel.

Traffic is building on the estate and there is congestion on roads around Wainscott and Strood.

Shortly after 6pm all lanes had reopened.

One driver says it took her an hour to get off the Medway City Estate.
