Crash on M2 between Gillingham and Sittingbourne

A crash involving three vehicles on the M2 did cause five and a half miles of traffic.

One lane was closed on the coastbound carriageway between junction 4 for Gillingham and junction 5 for Sittingbourne, with queues trailing back to junction 3 for Chatham.

Emergency services and Highways England were sent to the scene.

Police were called at 3.13pm to a collision involving two lorries and a van.

Officers are in attendance and there are no reported injuries.

Drivers were saying it was taking more than an hour to travel between the junctions.

However, all lanes have now reopened and traffic is said to be now moving.
