A major road was closed off this morning as police responded to reports of a woman in need of help.

Officers shut Chatham Hill, Chatham, while they dealt with the incident.

The road was closed between Whitehorse Hill and Upper Luton Road from 7.50am to 8.10am.

A spokesman said the force was called around 7.15am over concerns for the woman's wellbeing.

She was located and passed into the care of healthcare professionals.
