A man was arrested after crashing into and demolishing a brick wall and attempting to leave the scene.

Firefighters were also called to the scene in Cooling Road, Strood, just before 10pm, following initial reports that the crashed vehicle was on fire.

Kent Police said a 50-year-old man from Rochester was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink or drugs and released on police bail pending further investigation.
