A man in his 20s was attacked and robbed in the early hours during a town centre incident.

The victim suffered facial injuries when two people snatched his rucksack at about 1am in Old Road, Chatham.

A 47-year-old man and a woman, aged 32, both from Chatham, were arrested.

They remain in custody as inquiries continue.

The man was treated in hospital.
