Broadstairs man charged after passengers threatened at Gillingham station

A man has been charged after reports of a drunk man threatening people at a train station.

British Transport Police were called to Gillingham station at around 5.30pm last Saturday.

They received reports of a man causing a disturbance and threatening members of the public.

Officers from Kent Police were also at the scene, and a man was arrested and taken to custody.

BTP tweeted the next day that a Gillingham football fan was "goading fellow supporters into disorder".

Luke Parris, 33, and of Fosters Avenue, Broadstairs, has since been charged with being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

He has since been released on bail, to appear at Margate Magistrates’ Court on October 13.
