Man charged in connection with murder of Peter Beale in Rochester

A man has been charged in connection with the death of a man found in Rochester.

He was arrested when he returned from Gatwick in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Police have now charged the man from Hoo, who is in his 20s, and he will appear at Medway Magistrate's Court tomorrow.

The victim was father-of-one Peter Beale from Sittingbourne who was found having been stabbed next to Rochester Bridge on Tuesday, September 18.

A man in his 30s from Rainham was arrested the folllowing day and released without charge.

Five more people have since been arrested and released pending further enquiries.
