Stanislavs Leonovs of Luton Road, Chatham, charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life

A man arrested over a drive-by shooting has been charged with attempted murder.

Stanislavs Leonovs, of Luton Road, Chatham, was also charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

The 27-year-old appeared at Barkingside Magistrates' on Monday and was remanded in custody to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Monday, January 11.

Another man was arrested in Batchelor Street, Chatham, in connection with a shooting and released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Met police officers were called to reports of a shooting in Green Lane, Goodmayes, at 5.49am on Wednesday, July 1.

The victim, a man in his 50s was taken by London Ambulance Service to an east London hospital where he was treated for gunshot injuries. He has since been discharged from hospital.

Detectives believe that a number of shots were fired from a vehicle.
