Man arrested after armed police called to Ordnance Terrace in Chatham

A man remains in custody for questioning after armed police were called a house yesterday afternoon.

Officers headed to Ordnance Terrace, Chatham, close to Fort Pitt Hill, at around 1.20pm following reports a man had been spotted with a weapon.

Armed police were called to the incident in Ordnance Terrace, Chatham (39007457)

A man in his 30s was detained at the scene in connection with the incident and is in police custody.

Inquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing.

Officers stayed at the scene to conduct searches and for further investigation until about 8pm.

No weapon has yet been located by detectives though, a spokesman for Kent Police confirmed today.
