A young man died after performing jumps on a motorbike with a friend, an inquest has heard.

Dakota Webb, of Chapel Road, Isle of Grain, died on April 20 after coming off his friend's bike when they were doing jumps in a field behind Brett Marine Aggregates, in Salt Lane, Cliffe.

An inquest opening at Maidstone's Archbishop's Palace last week heard the pair were taking it in turns to ride the off-road motorcycle through the field and jumping over large hills when the 22-year-old railway worker fell off the bike.

His friend ran to the top of the hill and looked down to find Dakota lying motionless on his back, before running to him to check for a pulse and ringing 999.

Multiple paramedics arrived at the scene to help Dakota, but he died from his injuries.

His cause of death was given as traumatic brain injury and skull fracture.

The inquest was adjourned to be heard in full on August 11.

Tributes poured in for Mr Webb after his death.

One friend said: "R.I.P my brother, taken far too soon, no amount of tears or words is ever going to make this right. You were too good for this world and that’s been shown.

"You said goodnight too early for us all to manage and I still can’t get my head around it.

"No more laughs day in day out at work and out of work. You’ll be dearly missed and never forgotten my brother."

Another person added: "R.I.P Dakota Webb. Fly high bro you were too young to go I’ll miss the little jokes we had meet you on the other side."

Dozens of flowers and candles were also placed outside Grain Coast Customs opposite his home.
