Former Medway man extradited from Australia to face 1970s child sex offence charges

A former Kent resident has been extradited from Australia to face charges of child sex offences.

Leonard Sheldon, who was living in Perth, was returned to the UK via Singapore accompanied by officers from Kent Police.

Leonard Sheldon, 64, appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court

It relates to a number of offences alleged to have been committed in Rochester in the late 1970s.

The 64-year-old appeared before Medway Magistrates' Court earlier today charged with 10 child sex offences.

Sheldon was released on bail and appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, December 23.
