A man was found dead at a halfway house over the weekend.
Shaun Wright, 31, had not been seen since Friday night and was discovered in his room early on Sunday morning.
He had been staying at the property in Dale Street, Chatham, — a temporary home to recently released offenders and homeless men — for around five months and is thought to have been from Margate.
A neighbour said people stay there for anything from a few weeks up to 18 months.
Police, paramedics and the fire service were called to the two-storey terrace house, which has been run by Paramount Independent Property Services for the past three years, at 5.40am on Sunday, although fire crews were soon sent away.
Police spokesman James Walker confirmed officers attended a private address to "assist ambulance crews with a medical incident".
It's claimed cleaners first attended the property yesterday morning.
On the same day Paramount staff attended and removed their sign from the property.
They reportedly told residents it was due to "media interest".
Paramount refused to comment.
A report of the death has been passed to the coroner and an inquest will be opened in due course.
