Man in bid to abduct schoolgirl

POLICE are hunting a would-be abductor who tried to snatch a schoolgirl.
The man chased and grabbed the 15-year-old and tried to take her away in his car.
The incident happened at 6.30pm at Wayfield Road, Chatham, on Friday, November 7.
Officers say the girl had been walking towards Stallion Avenue when a black Vauxhall Cavalier pulled up alongside her.
A man leaned out of the car window and told the girl to get into the vehicle.
She ran away and he chased her, grabbing hold of her shoulder and again telling her to get into the car.
The girl struggled free and ran away.
The offender is described as black, aged 35 to 40 years old, about 6ft tall and of stocky build.
He had collar-length plaited hair and a beard and was wearing a blue T-shirt and blue jeans.
The G-registered car, which would be 14 years old, is described as being in reasonable condition and with non-metallic paint.
A Medway police spokesman said: "We would like to issue a warning for everyone to be on their guard and would also ask anyone with may have information in connection with this incident to contact us.''
