Man denies robbing Wayfield Co-op, Chatham, and attempting to rob Martin McColl, Luton

A man has denied robbery and attempted robbery at two Chatham shops.
Paul Godden, 35, of Stanley Road, Gillingham, is accused of robbing the Co-op in Wayfield Road, Chatham, of cash, cigarettes and tobacco worth £2,540 on August 11.
It is also alleged he tried to rob staff at Martin McColl newsagent in Luton High Street of money and cigarettes on the same day.
Godden pleaded not guilty to both charges when he appeared at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday via TV link with Elmley Prison in Sheppey.
He was remanded in custody by Judge Michael Carroll until a plea and case management hearing on November 19.
