Man in his 30s injured during hit and run incident near Corporation Street, Rochester

Police have launched an investigation after a man was hit by a car which failed to stop at the scene.
The man, who is in his 30s, was found in Corporation Street, in Rochester, near to George Lane.
Paramedics were called out to treat the man shortly before 10.30am yesterday and two ambulances, one from the Red Cross and another from South East Coast Ambulance Service, (SECAmb) were sent to the scene.
The man complained of shoulder and abdomen pain to paramedics and after initially being assessed at the scene, he was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham, for further treatment.
The hit and run is being investigated by police.
A spokesman said: “Kent Police was called at 10.24am following a collision involving a car and a man in a car park off George Lane, Rochester.
“The man was taken to hospital with injuries not reported to be life-threatening.
“Officers are investigating the circumstances behind the incident.”
