Man pulled from River Medway in Rochester identified

The body of a man pulled from a river has been identified as a man in his 30s.

Police were called to the Esplanade in Rochester at 7pm on Thursday, September 5.

Fire crews and paramedics were also called to the area, and a police helicopter was also deployed.

A 32-year-old man from the Swanscombe area was pulled from the river at Medway Bridge Marina.

His next of kin have been informed.

Police spokesman Steve Knight said: "Enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the man’s death are ongoing.

"A report will be prepared for the coroner."
