A man has been talked down from jumping from a bridge by police.
Officers were spotted on the M2 bridge near Cuxton earlier walking a young man back from the railings on the London-bound carriageway.
Traffic was stopped while officers dealt with with man, who has not been named.
One motorist who didn't want to be named said: "I was on the other side and the traffic was stopped and I could see police were walking back from the railings with a man in a black hood."
Last month, a former reality show star placed thoughtful notes on the bridge to try to deter people from jumping to their deaths.
Lacey Fuller, from Strood, made headlines in 2016 when she appeared on MTV's Ex on the Beach.
The 22-year-old posted on social media saying she had visited the M2 bridge with her sisters and friends to leave the positive messages.
And earlier this month, Ms Fuller and a group of friends, who all live in Cuxton and Strood, returned with the Medway, Gravesham and Swale Samaritans, to put up more messages.
They plan to cover the whole bridge with uplifting quotes and mental health hotline numbers.
James Walker, spokesman for Kent Police said: "Police was called at 4.09pm to a report a distressed man had been seen on the M2 London-bound, near Cuxton.
"Officers have attended and located the man, who has been safely removed from the area and currently remains with the patrols."
For confidential support on an emotional issue, call Samaritans on 116 123 at any time.
