Tom Dallas will wind down his training on Friday ahead of his Prizefighter showdown on Wednesday.

A sparring session with Brixton’s unbeaten heavyweight Dillian Whyte will all but end Dallas’ preparations for the £32,000 winner-takes-all contest.

Dallas said: "Friday’s session will be light and fast and I will concentrate on my speed.

"I may then do a little bit at the weekend but all the hard work is already done. Dillian Whyte will be tough and is a good person to spar with."

Dallas is one of eight boxers aiming to win the Prizefighter contest at York Hall, with the draw for the opening round taking place on the night.

The semi-finals and final follow on the same evening, with each fight lasting a maximum of three rounds.

Chatham’s Dallas will be up against former world title challengers Kevin Johnson and Albert Sosnowski, as well as Moroccan Noureddine Meddoune, who has won his last four fights with first round KOs.

Brazilian knockout king Marcelo Luiz Nascimento has enjoyed 14 KOs from 16 wins, while New Yorker Tor Hamer has won the majority of his fights by KO.

Maurice Harris – ranked No.11 in the US – and inexperienced Brit Tom Little make up the eight.

Dallas is now just itching to get in the ring, saying: "I have been sparring with John McDermott and done quite well.

"I’m feeling fit and confident and can’t wait to get in there."
