Salt spreaders will continue working throughout the day trying to keep Medway's roads clear.

But council officials are advising people not to drive unless they have to.

Head of highways Phil Moore said: “Salt spreaders have been out across Medway, working all night and will continue today.

"All primary and secondary routes have had maximum salt spread on each run. Salt has also been spread on a number of local routes too.

"The snow is expected to continue today and it would be advisable to not drive unless your journey is essential.”
