Motorists suffered long delays after a crash on the M2.

The accident, which involved three vehicles, happened on the coastbound carriageway between junctions 1 and 2, the exit slip road for Junction 2 had to be closed.

Police and fire crews were sent to the scene at around 6.20pm.

The road reopened at around 7.10pm and traffic eventually cleared at around 8.20pm.
