Motorway reopened after fears for man on bridge

Delays on the M2 yesterday were due to fears for a man on the bridge police confirmed.

A rolling road block was in place along the motorway between junction 2 near the Medway Bridge and junction 3 for Chatham and Rochester on Tuesday September 25.

Lanes were closed, but everything is getting back to normal now, according to Highways England.

Traffic is currently slow moving on the M2 (4387650)

An eyewitness said there was a man sitting on the rail of the bridge, and police later confirmed they were called at 11.20am to concerns around a man on a motorway bridge above the M2 between junctions 2 and 3.

The man later left the motorway bridge and his welfare was dealt with by police officers. A temporary road closure put in place on the M2 was lifted.
