M2 coastbound reopens after four-way crash between Strood and Chatham junctions

Traffic was temporarily held on a motorway after a four-way crash.

The incident happened on the M2 coastbound between J2 Strood and J3 Chatham shortly before 8am this morning.

All lanes were stopped were stopped which emergency services dealt with the incident which involved two cars, a lorry and a van.

Motorists experienced delays but the road has since fully reopened.

A police spokesperson said: “We were called at around 7.50am following a collision involving two cars, an HGV and a van.

“Officers attended. No serious injuries were reported.”
