Two lanes of a motorway were closed this afternoon following a crash involving a lorry and two cars.

Emergency services were called to the M2 coastbound just before the Medway Bridge at 4.14pm.

A police spokesman said: "The collision did block live lanes on the carriageway and, to ensure public safety, a nearby slip road was closed however this has been lifted.

"At present, no serious injuries have been reported."

Motorists were warned to expect long delays and highways officials said all lanes were reopen by 5pm.
