Naked protesters took over part of a building this morning (Tuesday) to protest against a public relations firm's apparent support of Kingsnorth power station.
Activists occupied the lobby, entrance and a roof of Edelman PR’s building in Victoria Street, London.
According to the Camp for Climate Action website, Edelman is the world’s largest indepedent PR company and has represented E.ON - which hopes to build a new coal-fired power station at Kingsnorth, in the Hoo peninsula and use carbon capture technology - since 2008.
A statement on the activists’ website, said: “Activists have occupied the lobby and the entrance to demonstrate the truth behind E.ON’s Kingsnorth campaign, that we cannot continue to burn coal, the world’s dirtiest fossil fuel, in the face of catastrophic climate change.”
Alice Fielding says “Edelman PR are nothing more than new coal spin doctors, intent on making profit out of EON’s activities at the expense of the global climate.”
It is unclear whether any arrests were made.

Edelman’s CEO, Robert Phillips, said: “We offered them the opportunity to come and discuss the issues with us - preferably fully clothed - but they declined.
Edelman is proud to work with E.ON, as they continue to argue that in order to reduce our carbon emissions, keep energy affordable and keep the lights on,
we need a balanced energy policy that includes renewables, nuclear and cleaner fossil fuels.
The future of PR lies with engaged dialogue among multiple stakeholders, including the NGO community. It no longer belongs to cheap stunts that don’t,
in all honesty, get to the heart of the big issues of our time.”
