The finishing touches are being applied to a finger-licking chicken outlet set to open this Spring.

A new KFC has been built in Horsted Retail Park, Chatham, with it firing up the fryers for its first customers from March.

Work began in August last year and is set to be completed soon with an opening date of March.
The American fast food chain is expanding across Kent.

The land will also host an Aldi, Home Bargains and a UFC Gym.

Plans for the disused site in Maidstone Road were approved in April after Toys R Us vacated its premises.

Land owners Royal London subdivided the site after it struggled to get one business to the 3,702 square metre plot

It is hoped it will create 88 full-time and part-time jobs, with the “majority” available to local residents.

Work laying the initial foundations for Colonel Sander's continued expansion began last year, with further sites earmarked across Kent.

A sign advertising jobs has now appeared outside the site in Chatham

These include new drive thrus in Aylesham, Ashford South, Canterbury West, Chatham South, Deal, Faversham, Folkestone, Gravesend, Maidstone West, Medway Tunnel, and Swanscombe.

A new sign advertising "career opportunities" with "flexible shifts" can now be seen adorning the gates of the Chatham retail park.
