Two "county lines" drug dealers have been jailed after travelling more than 150 miles to supply heroin and crack cocaine in Kent.

Reshaun Tomlinson, 19, of Causeway in Rowley Regis, West Midlands, and Devonn Weston, 19, of Jackson Street in Oldbury have been locked up for a combined five years.

County lines drug gangs typically come from large urban areas and supply drugs to suburban and rural locations.

Police officers stopped the pair in Mill Road, Gillingham, when they became suspicious of Tomlinson and Weston as both were paying a lot of attention to their movements.

This behaviour prompted officers to speak to them and search a nearby vehicle which belonged to Tomlinson and had three parking tickets on it.

Heroin and crack cocaine with a combined total worth of £7,440 was uncovered after the men and the car was searched.

Tomlinson pleaded not guilty to possessing heroin with intent to supply and possessing crack cocaine with intent to supply and was sentenced to three years in prison at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, July 27.

Weston pleaded guilty to both charges and was sentenced to two years.

Tomlinson’s car, a black Seat Ibiza, was surrendered under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Detective Constable Robin Hemsley, the investigating officer for this case, said: “These two offenders travelled from Birmingham with the sole intention of supplying class A drugs in the Medway Towns.

“There is no place in Medway for people seeking to supply Class A drugs and this case shows Kent Police has the resources to proactively target offenders and bring them to justice.”
