Person airlifted to hospital after crash involving motorbike and van in Maidstone Road, Chatham

A motorcylist has been airlifted to a hospital following a crash on a busy main road.

Police and paramedics were called to the collision in Maidstone Road, Chatham at around 8.30am this morning.

It is understood a van and a motorbike crashed on the main road near the laundromat.

The motorcyclist was treated at the scene by the emergency services before he was flown to Kings College Hospital by air ambulance.

The injuries sustained are not believed to be life-threatening.

The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident and reopened at around 9.30am.
