A heroin and crack cocaine dealer has been jailed for two-and-a-half years.

Odyssius Ojo was spotted by plain clothed officers in Gillingham as he supplied two people with Class A drugs.

The 19-year-old was arrested and later admitted possessing both drugs with intent to supply.

He also admitted acquiring criminal property – £230 in cash – through selling drugs.

Ojo, of Camden Road, Gillingham, was nabbed shortly after 9.45pm on May 21 after three officers watched him exchange packages in Strover Street.

When approached, he threw a mobile phone before struggling with the officers.

He later admitted possessing illicit drugs and removed two packages from his clothing.

These were found to contain 77 wraps of heroin and crack cocaine which had been prepared for sale on the streets.

The teenager was charged and remanded in custody.

These offences were committed while he was on bail, having been charged with two earlier counts of possessing heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply.

In July last year, members of the Medway Community Policing Team observed him supplying substances in an alleyway in the Franklin Road area of Gillingham.

He ran from officers but was found hiding in a nearby garden.

Appearing at Maidstone Crown Court last week, he pleaded guilty to these additional matters and received an 18-month concurrent sentence.

Investigating officer DC Mark Donovan said: "As Ojo has found out, our county lines and gangs team are routinely patrolling the streets, often in plain clothes, and are always quick to act on any suspicious activity they observe.

"There is no place in Medway, or anywhere else in Kent, for individuals who seek to make money through selling class A drugs and we will continue to target them and take the most robust course of action available."
