Police appeal for witnesses after elderly woman seriously injured in crash in Maidstone Road, Chatham

A woman in her eighties is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car.

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses to the collision in Maidstone Road, Chatham, at around 3.20pm yesterday.

It involved a silver Ford Focus at the junction with Watson Avenue.

The elderly pedestrian remains in a London hospital this morning and the road was also shut for some time while police and ambulance crews attended the scene.

Officers from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit would like to speak to anyone who saw the collision or the victim prior to the incident and who has not yet spoken to police.
