Police are investigating after a teenager reported being approached by a stranger claiming to be a police officer.
The 15-year-old boy said he declined an offer of a lift home by the man, who approached him in Hoath Lane, Gillingham, between 8.25pm and 8.40pm on Sunday September 11.
The man, who reportedly showed the boy what appeared to be a police badge and warrant card, has been described as white and aged between 25 and 29 years old.
He was wearing a white T-shirt, dark blue jeans and black leather shoes, and is believed to have been driving a black or dark blue vehicle that may have been a people carrier.
Inspector Richard Woolley said "While we understand that people may be concerned by this incident, we would like to reassure the public that there have been no other similar reports of this kind.
"We have already made a number of enquiries but would urge anyone who may know who this man is or believe they may have seen him in the area to get in touch."
