A man was punched in the face in attack in alleyway in Gillingham

A man was punched in the face and knocked unconscious in an unprovoked attack in Medway.

Detectives investigating the assault say they are looking for witnesses to the incident, which happened on Monday, March 31, but has only just been revealed by police.

Officers say a man approached a group of people in an alleyway in Gillingham which leads from Balmoral Gardens, to Gillingham Railway Station, at about 6.20pm.

As he did so he punched a 25-year-old man from the group in the face, rendering him unconscious.

A spokesman for police in Medway said: “The offender is described as being between 16 and 18 years of age.

“He is thought to be Eastern European and was wearing a red hooded top, jeans and trainers.

“Enquiries are ongoing to locate the offender.”
