Police called to 'distressed' man on M2 bridge near Cuxton

Police were called to reports of a distressed man on a bridge.

Officers headed to the M2 bridge over the River Medway at about 12.40pm after concerns were raised for the man who was seen in the area near Cuxton.

Police attended and found the man safely who will now now be passed into the care of medical professionals.

One witness said they had seen officers by the pedestrian entrance of the bridge by Cuxton.

Queues built up on the motorway from from J2 A228 Sundridge Hill (Strood / Rochester) to J3 (Chatham / Rochester) as police dealt with the incident.
