Man on bridge sparks road closures in Chatham

Roads in Chatham town centre were closed after police were called to a man in distress on a bridge.

Five police cars and one ambulance were at the scene.

Railway Street and part of New Road were closed for a couple of hours.

Police were called at 6.04pm following a report of a man in distress.

The road reopened at 7.50pm and he was handed to health care professionals.

Tap 'n' Tin has advised customers to delay their arrival to the club this evening to allow emergency services to deal with the incident but has confirmed it is open.
