Three people have been arrested and nearly £28,000 worth of cannabis seized after police carried out a number of drugs warrants in Medway.

Officers carried out four warrants across the Towns on Wednesday, July, 24, after receiving and acting on information suggesting that cannabis was being supplied.

A warrant was executed at a home in Knights Road, Hoo, where a street value of £4,666 worth of cannabis was seized and destroyed.

A woman 28, and a man, 32, both from Hoo, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis and have been bailed to September 25, pending further enquiries.

Officers also executed a warrant at an address in Conifer Drive, Chatham, and £22,000 of herbal cannabis was seized.

A 36-year-old man from Chatham was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis and have been bailed to October 9 pending further enquiries.

Police also executed a warrant at a home in Upper Luton Road, Chatham, and officers worked with the landlord of a property there.

Two men have been evicted from their home address due to allegation of persistent anti-social behaviour and drug use.

A fourth warrant was executed in Richmond Road, Gillingham and resulted in a man, 35, from the town, being issued a caution for possession of a small amount of herbal cannabis.

Bryan Ward, drugs liaison officer for Kent Police, said: “We received information from some local residents concerned about the use and supply of cannabis in their community.

“We are now also regularly working closely with the Department for Work and Pensions to highlight instances of benefit fraud and irregularities in properties subject to enforcement action.

“This is another example of us identifying people we suspect of being involved with controlled drugs and taking action.

“Enforcement such as this will continue and if members of the public have information about drug use or supply, I would encourage them to contact Kent Police so we can take action.”
