Police with taser in Chatham stand-off with 'female with knife'

Police were involved in a taser stand-off with a "female with a knife".

Officers were sent to Dock Road, Chatham, at around 1pm on Saturday where they "pointed their taser" at a woman, leading her to drop the blade.

The woman in her 20s was then arrested for possession of a bladed article.

A police spokesman confirmed she is still in custody while their inquiries continue.

Details of the dramatic incident were share by the Kent Police Medway team on Twitter at 6.48pm on Saturday.

They tweeted: "The Towns teams were deployed to a female with a knife in Chatham. Officer pointed their taser at the female and she has dropped the knife.

"Female arrested for possesion of a bladed article. Patrols then located a stolen car hidden up a street."
