A road was sealed off after a man was stabbed during a burglary in the early hours of this morning.

Officers were called to Gardiner Street in Gillingham at around 4.30am after a man was found with stab wounds.

A woman was then found injured at a property in nearby Skinner Street.

The man was taken to a London hospital by air ambulance and is in a stable condition.

The woman was treated at the scene by ambulance crews for minor injuries.

Both are in their 20s.

A man has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in custody.

Detectives want to speak to anyone with information or who may have seen or heard anything in the area at that time.
