Officers on a routine patrol in the town requested the vehicle to stop on Maidstone Road on the evening of November 6.

But the silver car failed to stop when it was flagged down by police.

Shortly after that, the same car was reportedly taken while parked up in St Margaret's Street between 9.30pm and 10.40pm.

Anyone with information about the man or can help police identify him is asked to call police on 01634 792209, quoting reference 46/226085/21, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or complete the online form on their website.
