Police officer suffers ‘serious leg injury’ after disturbance outside The City Wall in Rochester High Street

A police officer has suffered a “serious injury” to her leg after a brawl outside a bar.

Several people were involved in an altercation inside and then outside The City Wall in Rochester High Street on Saturday (November 2) at around 10.20pm.

The officers were in the town as part of a routine patrol during the time.

Several members of the public sustained minor injuries and two police officers were also assaulted, with one sustaining a serious injury to her leg.

Six people were arrested at the scene and five people have since been charged in connection with the incident.

Those charged in connection with the incident are:

• Jim Aaron Stevens, 20, of Love Lane, Headcorn, was charged with affray, common assault and assaulting an emergency worker

• Jimmy King, 18, of no fixed address, was charged with affray and using threatening, abusive words with intent of causing fear of/provoking unlawful violence

• Jim Stevens, 41, of Headcorn Road, Ulcombe, has been charged with grievous bodily harm, assaulting an emergency worker and affray

• Micky Stevens, 34, of Manor Green Road, Epsom, Surrey, has been charged with affray

• A 15-year-old boy from Headcorn who has been charged with common assault. He was bailed to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 28 November

A 19-year-old man from Sittingbourne who was arrested has since been released pending further investigation.

Jimmy King, Mickey Stevens and Jim Stevens are due to appear at Folkstone Magistrates’ Court on Monday, November 4.

Jim Aaron Stevens is due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on the same date.

Investigators would like to talk to anyone who was in the area at the time, who has not yet spoken to police.
